Cooking Classes for Kids and Parents

Franklin County 4-H Offering Cooking Classes for Youth and Parents

Are you ready to become a culinary whiz kid? Do you want to “wow’ your family and friends with delectable tasty tidbits? Make plans to join us at the 4-H Foodstand located on the Franklin County Fairgrounds, Hampton, Thursday, June 25, 9:00 – 3:00 pm. This workshop is open to youth who have completed grades 4-12. We will begin with the basics: learning to measure ingredients, reading recipes, cooking terminology, and cooking techniques. We also want to know what
you want to learn! Contact the Franklin County Extension Office 641-456-4811 or e-mail jackied@iastate.edu to register by June 18.

We will be making our own lunch, but you will want to bring your own drink. Older members that have some cooking experience, we could use your help with the teaching portion in the morning, just let the Extension Office know if you are willing to help. Our afternoon plans are to cover some of the things you told us you wanted to learn! Adult cooking partners are encouraged to come.
